The distributor Edenor made today in the City of Buenos Aires the first change of meter and connection of a user-generator of the national regime of Distributed Generation of renewable energy sources. Established by Law 27,424, the Regime allows users to generate their own energy to be used for self-consumption and to inject any surplus in the network in exchange for remuneration.
This first user-generator installed a solar photovoltaic generation equipment composed of 12 solar panels for a total power of 3.8 kilowatts. Distributed generation equipment, such as solar panels, small wind turbines or other technologies, can be installed in industries, SMEs and households, generating an economic saving in the electric service bill and contributing to the mitigation of climate change.
In the coming weeks more users from different provinces will join, who have already started their online process to be, in addition to consumers, generators of their own renewable electric power.
In order to install a bidirectional meter, users must complete a procedure on the Digital Public Access Platform https://www.argentina.gob.ar/energia/generacion-distribuida
