The multipurpose terminal, a joint venture between International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) from Philippines and PSA from Singapore, started operations on November 2016 in the Aguadulce peninsula in Benaventura. “The arrival of this vessel represents an important step forward for Puerto Aguadulce, Buenaventura, Colombia and in general, for Latin America, demonstrating that we have the experience, talent and optimal conditions that allow us to adapt to the new port and maritime dynamics of the world, making our terminal visible for the arrival of future vessels of greater proportions,” said Alvaro Otero, general manager of Puerto Aguadulce.

Puerto Aguadulce has been the main destination of the most important ships that have arrived in the country in recent years, such as the largest cargo capacity ship, MSC Chiyo, in July and the CMA CGM Liberty, the first ship in Latin America, powered by liquefied natural gas, in June this year.
