ISW: Russia is rushing to launch a decisive offensive in Ukraine in time for the arrival of Western weapons

7

The Russian command is in a hurry to launch a decisive offensive due to two factors – the arrival of Western military assistance and the onset of spring thaw, which is expected around April. This conclusion is made by analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War ( ISW ).

According to military experts from the United States, it was the thaw factor that prevented Russian mechanized maneuvers in the spring of 2022.

Note that officials in Ukraine believe that Russian troops are preparing for a large-scale decisive offensive in the east in mid-late February.
