Shamar Davis appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday charged with the offence of robbery.

It is alleged that on August 17, at Water Street, Georgetown, while being in the company of others, David robbed Colex Jilkes of one gray haversack valued at $20,000.

The backpack contained a Lenovo laptop valued at $150,000; a JPL speaker valued at $15,000; four silver buttons bearing Guyana Revenue Authority’s logo valued at $20,000; one GRA tie valued at $12,000; a GRA badge valued at $5,000; an iPhone valued at $50,000 and $30,000.

The Prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant was convicted in 2021 for a matter of similar nature. Bail was refused and Davis is slated to reappear in court on October 6, 2023.
