Mr. Cutrer passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson.
Born May 2, 1952, in Pike County, Mr. Cutrer was the son of Bessie Mae Freeman Cutrer of McComb and the late Alton Curtrer Jr.
Mr. Cutrer had a long work history and believed everyone should work and work hard.
Mr. Cutrer’s career began at Cothern’s Grocery and Service Station and L&M Tire Service and Pressure Services. He then began his 36-year career as a supervisor in the oilfield industry, having worked for HWI, HWC and Boots and Coots. His work carried him throughout the United States, Scotland, Venezuela, Norway, England, Germany and Africa and earned him a perfect safety record for more than 30 years.
Mr. Cutrer enjoyed fishing, hunting and grilling out for family and friends. He especially loved spending every spare moment at their camp, “Ain’t Tat Sumpin,” at Lake Mary. He was often known as a “pool shark” who was hard to beat for a quick-spirited temper and point-blank honesty. When all was said and done, he loved his family and friends and the men he worked for and with over the years. They will all miss him.
In addition to his father, Mr. Cutrer was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Lynn Cutrer Fusilier; a brother, Mike “Booty” Cutrer; his grandparents, Alton Sr. and Julia Forbes Cutrer, and Julius and Nellie Mae Freeman; and an uncle, Vena Cutrer.
Mr. Cutrer is survived by his wife of nearly forty years, Regina Holmes Cutrer; his mother; a son, Ronnie Cutrer; a daughter, Jennifer Cutrer Berberette; six grandchildren, Trent Fusilier, Kailey Cutrer, Makenzie L. Cutrer, Stormi McGovern, Blake Berberette and Hali Grave Berberette; one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie R. and Marion Cutrer; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and Bill Wall; sisters-in-law, Cindi Cutrer, Glenda Arnold and Jeri Lynn Stegall; a brother-in-law, Steve Holmes; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces; treasured friends Johnnie Sullivan and Mac Fusilier; his “whatever-in-law”, Heather Mire; and his aunt Dot, because he was her “favorite one”.
