LAURA R. GREEN
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Centreville for Laura R. Green, 100, of Centreville. Rev. Floyd L. Matthews officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Ms Green passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born December 4, 1909, in Wilkinson County, Ms Green was the daughter of Abraham and Roxie Washington Reese, both deceased.
Ms Green was a homemaker. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and class leader coordinator.
Ms Green was also a member of the Benevolent Lodge.
In addition to her parents, Ms Green was preceded in death by her husband, Demetrice Green; one son; two daughters; seven sisters; and three brothers.
Ms Green is survived by four daughters adn sons-in-law, Earnestine and Zeblum Matthews of Atlanta, Christine and James King of Centreville, Jestina and Alonzo Bryant of Birmingham, Alabama, and Teresa and Edward Gray of Centreville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Violet Green of Gary, Indiana, Emeal and Velma Green, Linell and Patricia Green, all of Chicago, and Cornell and Sarah Green of Centreville; one brother and sister-in-law, Hermon and Linda Green of Detroit; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
