CHARLES RICHARD SHULTZ
Charles Richard Shultz, 88, of Smithdale, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at his residence. He was born December 30, 1921 in Duquesne, PA. He was the son of Wesley G. and Margaret Elizabeth Treece Shultz. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with 20 plus years service having retired in July 1964. At the time of his retirement he held the highest enlisted rank and also had a Reserve rank of Major.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Duquesne and attended Grace Way Church of the Nazarene in Summit.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter James Shultz and Harold Shultz and one sister, Edna Sloss.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ava Marie Butler Shultz of Smithdale, one brother, Paul Shultz of Duquesne, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who were all fond of their “uncle chick” appreciating his great sense of humor.
Graveside services with military honors were held at Mars Hill cemetery at 2PM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 with Dr. David P. Smith officiating.
