BERTHA LEE BENDER

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Sherman M.B. Church for Bertha Lee Bender, 53, of Snellville, Georgia, and formerly of Liberty. Rev. Edward Boss officiated. Burial was in Tickfaw Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bender passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Born July 20, 1956, in Amite County, Mrs. Bender was the daughter of Prince and Claver Lee Jackson, both deceased.
Mrs. Bender was an educator.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bender was preceded in death by two sisters; three sisters-in-law; and six brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Bender is survived by her husband, Fred L. Bender Sr.; eigh children, Shaketa and husband Joe Gillard, Juanita and husband Clinton Bompart, Fred Bender Jr., Prince D. Bender, Robert L. Bender, Fredrick L. Bender, Christian M. Bender and Areca L. Bender; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law, Lillie Prince Thompson and Nathaniel, Emma Louise Ard, Lula Lee and Merv Brereton, Effie Neal Jackson, Claver Lee and Donald Smith, Janice Marie Lyons and Ruby Christian and Ivory Hope; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Alhanion Luther and Lillie Jackson, Birkettt Lee and Rose Jackson and Thomas Clenzyroy and Karen Jackson; five grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
