After a full career of teaching public schools around southeast Texas’ urban centers of Beaumont and Orange, Richard Sessions, Amite School Center’s new headmaster, has taken on the challenge of bringing more to Amite School Center in hopes of getting more students enrolled. He is suggesting offering possible students something they can’t get anywhere else. One of these programs is a computer-based distance learning that can be done through the either of the two computer labs on the premises of the school.
The computer-based learning program would help those students that have been less than average in the grading perspective, and would allow students to study along with students elsewhere. This would enable the school to offer classes it hasn’t been able to offer in the past.
This program would also save on the hiring of more teachers, which would save the school funds for more important areas of improvements in the challenge of enrolling more students.
Sessions considers himself lucky to have gotten the position as headmaster at A.S.C. He’d wasn’t ready for retirement and knew the small county of Amite was the place he’d love to be if he ever moved to the country.
In addition to the great scenery and lovely town of Liberty, Sessions has been blessed with the warm hospitality of the people here. The people have helped to make his transition as easy as possible.
Welcome to the County headmaster Sessions. May your days be blessed and the school as well.
