CHRISTIANS PRAYING FOR CHRISTIANS

BY: REV. ODUS JACKSON

The four chapter letter of the Apostle Paul which he wrote to the Christians in the church at Colosse has valuable doctrinal and practical advice. As prayer warriors, Paul and Timothy wanted them to know they weren’t alone.

ON THESE THINGS I STAND

BY: REV. A.J. OGDEN

A person who stands for nothing will usually fall for nearly anything. It is amazing how so many people take aim at nothing and hit a bull’s eye.
It does take grace and courage to stand solid for what we believe, but the apostle Paul had some very definite things he would take a stand on, and they are recorded in Ephesians 6:10-11, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

WALK THROUGH LIFE WITH THE TRUE GOD

BY: REV. ODUS JACKSON

Paul went to Athens to await the coming to him of Silas and Timothy. While he was waiting, he took a stroll around the city. As he walked throughout Athens, Paul noticed that they worshiped many gods. The objects of their worship were all over the city and he said he found one with the inscription “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD”.

I AM NOT ASHAMED

BY: the late REV. A.J. OGDEN

Paul, the greatest missionary outside of Jesus Christ himself said, “I am not ashamed of God, the Bible, and Christ Jesus our Saviour.” Listen to him express it in Romans 1:15-17, “So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

FAITHFUL DISCIPLES OF JESUS

BY: REV. ODUS JACKSON

"Gamailiel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people”(Acts 5:34), convinced the high court that it was best to dismiss the disciples. So, they were beaten and told to cease preaching in Jesus’ name. They were then dismissed and left, “rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name”(v. 41).
The disciples of Jesus were faithful in their continuing service to the Lord. Their story of faithfulness is an example professing Christians everywhere needs to examine.

AN INTERVIEW WITH THE RESIDENTS OF HELL

BY: REV. A.J. ODGEN

Not so long ago I had a dream that was not only strange, but it was one that could never happen. In this dream I thought I was walking up and down there in Hell with a microphone, interviewing men and women. I would say, “Sir, why did you not accept Jesus? Why did you refuse God’s wonderful salvation? Why did you wait too long to repent? To this he replied, Oh I wish I had, as he screamed out in remorse.

SEEK GOD'S WILL, FIND IT, THEN FOLLOW IT

BY: REV. ODUS JACKSON

There is a great deal of danger in knowing God’s will and not doing it. The tendency for all of us is to seek His will, or His leadership in a matter, then keep our eye focused upon our own personal will and desires. The story of Moses’ error at Kadesh is a good lesson for us to learn before we seek God’s will, find it, then fail to follow it.

JUST ANY OLD BUSH WILL DO

BY: REV. A.J. OGDEN

The call of Moses is very interesting in that he went such a long way in God’s service in his lifetime. As a babe we see him floating in a basket among the seaweeds and snakes, but later in life he is the great deliverer of the children of Israel. There is a lot in between we do not have space to write at the present time. But let one say, “Little is much when God is in it.”

THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS

Back in 1973, when I went through boot camp, our Drill Instructors had a unique way of speaking that never failed to get our attention. They were loud. They were harsh. They gave us little pet names that I won’t repeat. Since I’d grown up around Army guys, I was used to that kind of talk and it didn’t bother me a bit. But I watched as the power of those words shredded many a man’s spirit.

THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS! A DONE DEAL

BY: REV. ODUS JACKSON

The centerpiece of the disciple’s preaching and the power point of the New Testament gospel message is the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The healed beggar was the focus of the questioning crowd.
