The Liberty Area Chamber of Commerce will meet Monday, September 13, 2010 at noon at the Bell, Book and Candle in Liberty. The cost for the meal will be $8.00 person. Members are urged to attend and guests are also invited.
Speakers for the meeting will be Richard Sessions, Headmaster at Amite School Center and Robert McDaniel, Principal at Amite County High School.

The Centreville Academy Annual Membership Meeting will be held September 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

There will be a benefit held for Mrs. Brenda Allen Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. at Amite River Association Building, 4379 Highway 48, Liberty. All church choirs, soloist, praise teams, and gospel groups are invited.
Mrs. Allen suffers from a heart condition and is awaiting a heart transplant. Please show your support for her and attend the event.

The Ladies of Ebony will be sponsoring a book signing for Rose Marie McCarthy Anding at the Liberty Library located on Clinic Drive at 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Room Sunday, August 15, 2010.
The book is titled “High Heels, Honey Lips & White Powder”. It is “One women’s tale of salvation from addiction and seduction”.
Public is invited to the book signing to share in an extraordinary story of salvation through God.

The next meeting of the Amite County Historical and Genealogical Society will be a regular business meeting held at the meeting room of the library in Liberty at 10:00 am on August 14, 2010.

Hunter Education/Safety class will be held at the Amite County Justice Court Complex on August 28th, 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Must be at least 10 years of age. Bring social security number, and a sack lunch. Must pre-register by calling Murry Toney at 601-657-8620.

An O'Neal reunion at Kiroli Park in West Monroe, LA is planned for Thursday, November 25, 2010. Descendents of Samuel A. Tanner Cothren of Liberty recently graduated with honors from Pearl River Community College in Hattiesburg, Ms. He received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant and is licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health/Professional Licensure Branch. Tanner is the son of Ronnie and Amy Cothren and is a 2008 graduate of Amite School Center.
